HGW 37° JIC Tube Fittings

HGW 37° JIC Tube Fittings are manufactured in accordance with SAE J514 and ISO 8434-2, the internationally recognized standards for 37° flare connections. They are designed for use in hydraulic and fluid transfer systems requiring reliable sealing, easy assembly, and broad compatibility.

These fittings are commonly used in two connection methods:

Tube Connection
For tube applications, the tube end is flared to 37° and assembled with a nut and sleeve. During installation, the flared tube seats against the fitting nose and is secured by tightening the nut, forming a compact and dependable mechanical seal.

JIC-to-JIC Connection
HGW JIC fittings can also connect directly with another JIC fitting of the same size and seat angle. In this case, sealing is achieved by the metal-to-metal contact between the opposing 37° flare seats, without the need for a sleeve and nut.

The three-piece design of body, sleeve, and nut provides a compact structure with a relatively small sealing area, offering low assembly torque, good resistance to vibration, and high-pressure performance. Because of these advantages, 37° JIC fittings are widely used in both mobile and industrial hydraulic systems.

HGW JIC adapters are also available for conversion to a wide range of international port and thread types, including:

  • SAE straight thread O-Ring Boss (ORB)

  • NPT / NPTF pipe threads

  • BSPP / BSPT threads

  • ISO 6149 ports

  • Metric threads and ports

This versatility allows HGW JIC fittings and adapters to connect tubing, hoses, and equipment ports across different hydraulic standards worldwide.

To meet various operating and environmental requirements, HGW 37° JIC fittings are available in:

  • Carbon Steel

  • Zinc Plated Steel

  • Zinc-Nickel Plated Steel

  • Brass

  • Stainless Steel

Typical Applications

  • Mobile hydraulic equipment

  • Industrial hydraulic systems

  • Applications exposed to vibration or dynamic loads

  • Systems requiring repeated assembly and maintenance

  • Tube-to-port and thread standard conversion applications
